I’ve been a reluctant healer most of my life and figured it was time for me to stop fighting it and fully step into that role. I can’t say it was a spiritual awakening as I don’t believe I was ever asleep. But it felt like it was time for me to start living a life more in tune with my authentic self. So after a divorce from a 5 yr marriage, I decided to let go of all the things that were not working for me and surrender to the flow and guidance of my own intuition.
The first thing that lead me to was studying and working with Reiki which I learned from Reiki Master, Rhonda Kuykendall-Jabari at her studio Wellness Uprising. There I also learned how to use a pendulum. Something I consider an invaluable tool to assist in tapping into one’s higher self for guidance and answers. I worked with Reiki for a while eventually becoming a Reiki Master and found many positive results for myself and others. However, I felt like there was more I could do and set an intention to figure that out. Born and raised in New York City, and being a pragmatic thinker I also wanted to find science-based healing modalities that address issues and imbalances that Western medicine does not while allowing for and even emphasizing my own innate abilities.
That all eventually lead me to Costa Rica where I currently reside. I came here for the surf but was also in search of teachers looking for a student. And that’s exactly what I found. Through close friends, I was introduced to Alexis Costello instructor and Practitioner of Touch for Health. And Lisa Morris who does the same for Bodytalk. I was and continue to learn and hone my craft from these two amazing women and encourage anyone wishing to do the same to look them up.
I specialize in distance healing and have a couple of different ways this can be accomplished. I have been trained in the Touch for Health modality including the SIPS, GEMS, and GEMS elemental protocols. These systems are based partially off of Acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five Elements theories. Five Elements theory outlines the relationship between the different elements in nature and the life force, or “qi,” that flows through them. In Chinese medicine, elements help us understand the patient and their personality. It provides a master blueprint that diagrams how nature interacts with the body and how the different dimensions of our being impact each other. Through studying the Five Element Framework and this multi-dimensional view of life I have a diagnostic framework to recognize where imbalances—body, mind, emotions, and spirit lie and how to re-balance them
In conjunction with Touch for Health I have also studied the Bodytalk system. Like another branch of the same tree this system focus more on broken lines of communication between the bodies different systems. It seeks to identify and observe these broken links and encourage the body to get them back to a state of wholeness.
Along with Reiki and Access BARS I have a complete tool kit to help correct personal imbalances on any level, be that physical, spiritual, emotional or energetic.
